Hemet Global Medical Center provides a full range of inpatient and outpatient cardiology care services, including a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. Comprehensive care includes a thorough assessment, diagnosis, treatment plan, and intervention, in addition to continued evaluation to ensure progress is on track. This process often begins with non-invasive testing. Additionally, Hemet Global Medical Center’s cardiology care services include treatment for atrial fibrillation, as well as cardiac arrhythmia.

Non-Invasive Procedures

Assessment may begin with non-invasive imaging procedures such as a transthoracic echocardiogram, which obtains still or moving images of internal parts of the heart.

Atrial Fibrillation

Atrial fibrillation is an irregular and often rapid heart rate that occurs when the upper chambers of the heart are no longer in coordination with the lower chambers. There are a variety of treatments for atrial fibrillation, including medication and cardiac catheterization.

CT scan is short for computerized tomography. A CT scan is a painless, non-invasive imaging technique that uses X-rays to take images of structures inside the body such as bones, blood vessels, and soft tissue. Computers then use the images to create cross-sectional views of these structures. CT scans provide more detailed information than plain X-rays and can be used to visualize nearly any part of the body while completely eliminating the superimposition of images of structures outside the area of interest. CT scans can assist with numerous imaging needs, including but not limited to:

  • Head
  • Lungs
  • Arterial and venous vessels
  • Cardiac
  • Abdominal and pelvic
  • Skeleton and joints

Many surgical procedures can be done on an outpatient basis. This means there is no overnight stay involved. Hemet Global Medical Center provides many minimally-invasive procedures that can be done in a relatively short amount of time and that require very little downtime. These procedures include but are not limited to gallbladder removal, hernia repair, and tonsillectomies. Day surgery is more convenient and less expensive than inpatient surgery and is often easier to schedule because the procedures are done on a routine basis.

For more information about these procedures or to schedule your surgery at Hemet Global Medical Center, please call (951) 652-2811.

An endoscopy is a non-surgical procedure in which a flexible tube called an endoscope is used to examine parts of the digestive tract. A light and camera are attached to the endoscope, allowing doctors to see color images of the digestive tract. Endoscopy is a common imaging technique used in gastroenterology and plays a key role in diagnosing conditions.

The following are two other common types of endoscopies also used in the Gastroenterology (GI) Department:

  • Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD). Also referred to as an upper GI endoscopy, an EGD is used to view the esophagus, stomach, and small intestine.
  • Colonoscopy. A colonoscopy is also a form of endoscopy. However, the endoscope enters the body through the rectum in order to view the large intestine (colon).

For more information on how our gastroenterology team can get you back on your feet and enjoying life in great health, please call Hemet Global Medical Center at (951) 652-2811.

At Hemet Global Medical Center, our compassionate medical specialists and surgeons provide personalized patient care and minimally-invasive surgical options as well as an ongoing dedication to resolving your orthopedic condition and/or injury.

Pain management and physical therapy may not always address the root cause of joint pain. After a thorough consultation, orthopedic surgery may be the answer. We offer our patients surgical and non-surgical treatment options as well as total joint replacement and arthroscopic surgeries. There are more than 100 types of arthritis ranging from osteoarthritis to rheumatoid arthritis. Our expertise is identifying the cause and mapping out a strategy to end joint pain.

Our approach to serious orthopedic conditions, injuries, and disorders always include a full evaluation of our patients’ health. We provide thorough and comprehensive tests, often including CAT (CT) scans, X-rays, and in some cases, MRI scans as well as a full evaluation of the body and family health history of each patient. Extensive testing is then evaluated to determine the best possible treatment with the patient’s long-term well-being and recovery as our primary objective.

For more information about these procedures or to schedule your orthopedic surgery at Hemet Global Medical Center, please call (951) 652-2811.

Working Together to Help Improve Our Hospital

A patient and family advisor is someone who wants to help improve healthcare in our community, gives feedback to the hospital based on his or her own experiences as a patient or family member, and helps us plan changes to continually improve how we provide care. Patient and family advisors provide a sounding board for patients and families of patients who have received care at Hemet Global Medical Center or Menifee Global Medical Center. Time requirements range from 1 – 4 hours per month.

Who can be a patient and family advisor?

You can be an advisor if you or a family member received care at Hemet Global Medical Center or Menifee Global Medical Center in the last 5 years. You do not need any special qualifications to be an advisor. What’s most important is your experience as a patient or family representative. We will provide you with any other training needed.

Being a patient and family advisor may be a good match with your skills and experiences if you can:
  • Discuss both positive and negative care experiences and share your thoughts on what went well and how things could have been done differently.
  • Listen and share your opinions respectfully.
  • Think about ways to improve healthcare in our community.
  • Keep any information you may hear as an advisor private and confidential.

Radiation therapy is a common treatment for cancer and is part of Hemet Global Medical Center’s comprehensive Oncology Care Services. Radiation therapy works by using beams of high-powered energy such as protons or X-rays to kill cancer cells. There are two types of radiation therapy. Radiation that is delivered from a machine outside of the body is called external beam radiation. However, radiation can also be delivered internally. This is called brachytherapy. Brachytherapy allows doctors to target specific parts of the body directly and deliver a higher dose of radiation. This type of therapy often has fewer side effects than external beam radiation and involves an overall shorter treatment time.

Our experienced oncologists manage each patient’s care throughout the course of the disease. This starts with the diagnosis, explaining the cancer diagnosis and stage, discussing all treatment options and his or her preferred choice, delivering quality and compassionate care, and helping our patients manage the symptoms and side effects of cancer treatment.

A stroke occurs when the brain is deprived of sufficient blood flow, leading to an interruption in the delivery of vital oxygen and nutrients. A delayed disruption of normal blood flow can cause lasting damage to brain tissue. The key to recovery is the administration of treatment within the first couple of hours after having had a stroke. This has been shown to improve long term outcomes.

Total joint replacement surgery is often done when a repair is not possible. While hip and knee replacements are some of the most common joint replacement surgeries performed, many other joints in the body can also be replaced such as the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hands, fingers, ankles, and toes. The type of joint replacement used and the amount of recovery time required after surgery greatly varies depending on the joint. Pain management and physical therapy may not always address the root cause of joint pain. After a thorough consultation, orthopedic surgery may be the answer to ending joint pain.

Our approach to serious orthopedic conditions, injuries, and disorders always include a full evaluation of every aspect of our patients’ health and extensive testing to determine the best possible treatment with the individual’s long-term well-being and recovery as our primary concern. We provide thorough and comprehensive scans, usually including CAT (CT) scans, X-rays, and in some cases, MRI scans as well as a full evaluation of the body and family history of each patient.
